I liked the look of this desk and the space it afforded along with the flat space that could be used for writing. After searching a lot, this desk was one of a few that actually matched my needs. It is solid and reasonably well built though some pieces seemed a little cheaper. They also ended up substituting the gliders for the desk drawer due to a supply issue (this was accompanied by good instructions, but still the pieces were set up / drilled with the other gliders in mind). The assembly is very difficult for a single person (heavy pieces and managing them). Also, the instructions were not as clear as they could have been (which side is the finished side, etc.). Overall, when it is assembled it is a very good desk.

PS - There is a price premium for this desk in comparison to many others you may find at your local office supply store that may be suitable for your needs, so you should check locally before paying this kind of sum

The product is beautiful. Although to assemble it was simply a pain. It took us over 8hrs with breaks. When we ordered the product came in two boxes. I thought that one box would have the hutch assembly information and the other for the desk but i was wrong everything was just simply mixed up and yes do remember that you have lots of space where you are going to assemble. Some of the manual instructions were difficult and confusing but most of it was ok. Any way the end product is cool but the process to get to that is a little painful. Enjoy ur product.

This was complicated to assemble, but the instructions were good and all the parts were there. It was a bonding experience between me and my daughter to assemble it. It arrived in two incredibly heavy boxes. One corner of one box was destroyed with the result that one corner of the main desk surface was slightly damaged. We decided to ignore that and I don't even notice it now when I look at the completed desk. The materials are very nice. The laminated surfaces seem very durable. I left out the silly CD rack to use the space to store a few more binders instead. The biggest problem was easily solved: The distance between the computer storage on the left and the usual location of a mouse on the right was too long for any mouse cords I had, so I had to switch to a wireless one. Lefty mouse users will have no problem. Also, I wish the computer door was vented. Even with the large opening in the back my computer gets pretty hot in there. The best thing about this desk was Amazon's price. It's really a great value.

The desk came in two boxes. You need to remove everything from both boxes and spread the parts on the floor. The instructions were straightforward EXCEPT that when it came to installing the drawer rails, it doesn't have a very clear picture. It was quite confusing. Luckily, if you installed the rails wrong, when the desk is finished you have enough room to remove and install properly. One panel came without veneer on it. The holes on the drawers were drilled in the wrong position. I needed to get a drill and drill new holes to anchor the rails properly. One thing I wish the manufacturer would do is include some extra hardware like screws, and anchors etc in case you screw one up during installation. I have done this several times in the past and it took me over 4 hours to complete with a little help from my wife to hold the piece together while I tightened down the anchors. But once the desk was assembled it was beautiful and everything worked properly without a hitch. The desk is quite large and heavy which is why I ordered this model. Overall, I am very happy with the end product.

Let's start with the bad and get that out of the way...
1. There were areas that needed structure support because the screws were not enough
2. Where the desk joins, metal brackets were used on the inside to ensure there is ample support.
3. For the base, some areas that required screws needed more support as there was not enough or the screws did not work. That was fixed by an extra screw here or there.
4. Lastly, when it came to one of the drawers a roller was missing so I had to order one from the manufacture rather than hunt around town. Luckily, they are very quick at sending things so I hope to be seeing it very soon.

Now for the good...

1. The desk is huge! There is more room on the top part of the desk then I ever could of visualized.
2. The keyboard area fits a keyboard, a mouse, and a decent size mouse pad. I will eventually get a keyboard pad as that will fit on it for my wrist support.
3. The drawers are huge! I was amazed at the amount of space that is in the file section and the other drawer.
4. I had to look twice at the deepness on the other two sections because that is a lot and it fits office documents and the the second shelf (the pull out) has a small stack of writing paper which I can remove or just leave there.
5. I currently have the top part open and will most likely leave it as is.
6. I set up all of my speakers so they are in four corners. One on the upper part of the desk, one on the lower part near my monitor, and the other two are on the very top of the hutch.
7. As for the hutch, WOW! That's all I can say regarding it. I'm still in awe with the space that is open for storage.
8. The cubby storage with the door is really convenient then the cd storage is great. I like the cubby next to it as I have my favorite books and a few personal items for show.
9. The first short cubby has tissues and my cell phone which is very convenient.
10.The cubby next to it has three candles for decor.
11.The long cubby at the top is for my doctorate legal pads that I'm constantly grabbing. Oh, in the corner of the desk before it raises to the higher level, I have been keeping my doctorate books that are being used for the term and it works well as I can stand them up without needing a bookend.
12. It fits my desktop tower no problem since I need to stand it up. I can close it and you wouldn't know.
