Modern and old fashioned together?

In a two bedroom apartment, is it ok to have a really old fashioned bedroom (Victorian furniture or older) and a really modern home office with avant garde furniture, or would the two clash too much?

It wouldn’t win any awards from “Architectural Digest”, but it would probably be OK for most people’s sensibilities. Many people decorate different rooms in different styles and manage to pull it off. What it would do is give you an excellent opportunity to see if you prefer one of those styles over the other for future reference.

A Modern Symposium

SOME of my readers may have heard of a club known as the
Seekers. It is now extinct; but in its day it was famous, and
